Specialities

Dr Sébastien Zilber is an orthopaedic surgeon and traumatologist, specialising in shoulder, elbow, hip and knee surgery. He practises at the Clinique Arago in Paris and the Hôpital Henri Mondor (AP-HP) in Créteil.

Activities

Dr Zilber is a part-time hospital practitioner at Hôpital Henri Mondor, where he is involved in orthopaedic and trauma surgery. He is also a lecturer on the Inter-University Diploma in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Surgical expertise

Dr Zilber specialises in prosthetic shoulder, hip and knee surgery, as well as shoulder arthroscopy. He trained at the leading surgical centres in Paris (Pitié-Salpêtrière, Henri Mondor, Cochin, La Croix Saint-Simon, Lariboisière, Robert Debré) and Lyon (Sainte Anne-Lumière).

His thesis on the long-term results of total shoulder prostheses was published in the Journal of Shoulder Surgery.This is an international benchmark in the field of shoulder surgery.

Training

A graduate of the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), Dr Zilber completed his training with a Diplôme d'Études Approfondies (DEA) in Biomorphology at the Université René Descartes (Paris V). He holds an Inter-University Diploma in Arthroscopy and a University Diploma in Microsurgery.

A former intern with the Paris Hospitals, he was Assistant Registrar with the Paris Hospitals in the orthopaedic surgery department at Hôpital Henri Mondor. He also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in Professor Goodman's orthopaedic laboratory at Stanford University (California, USA).

Learned Societies

Dr Zilber is a member of several learned societies, including the Société Française de Chirurgie Orthopédique et Traumatologique (SOFCOT), the Société Française de l'Épaule et du Coude (SOFEC) and the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC). He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Anatomy.
